It was on January 6, 2026, that the decisions of the Estonian Museum Annual Awards committees regarding Museum Rat nominees were announced. Valga Museum is also one of the nominees.
A total of 79 applications were submitted for the Museum Awards competition in nine different categories. Valga Museum was nominated for the Museum Rat award in the category of Scientific Event of the Year for organising the 8th Estonian-Latvian History Conference "Cultural History of Livonia".
The winners of the Museum Rat award will be announced from among the nominees on February 12, 2026, at the annual awards gala held at Ukuaru Music Hall in Rakvere.
This is the most important recognition in the Estonian museum landscape, aiming to highlight the valuable work our museums do for both their communities and visitors.
