On October 22, the exhibition Kristjan Teder and Flowers in Estonian Art was opened for visitors at Valga Museum. The exhibition is organised in cooperation with Tartu Artists' Union and is curated by Peeter Talvistu.

For art enthusiasts, Kristjan Teder (1901–1960) is primarily associated with lush abundance of flowers—a most fitting gift for a jubilee. This year’s exhibition is complemented by both earlier and later artists from Estonian art history.

The earliest flowers in the exhibition come from the works of Baltic German Lilly Walther. Flowers were also a lifelong motif in Malle Leis’s creations, starting from the late 1960s. In addition to Kristjan Teder, the following artists are featured in the exhibition: Jenny Grönholm, Hedi Jaansoo, Kiwa, Malle Leis, Marge Monko, Ene-Liis Semper, Hannes Starkopf, and Lilly Walther. The works are from the collections of Tartu Art Museum, the Art Museum of Estonia, and the artists themselves. The exhibition’s graphic designer is Katrin Nõu. The exhibition will remain open until December 7.
