Photo Tour “WAR OF INDEPENDENCE MONUMENTS IN VALGAMAA”
To celebrate the upcoming anniversary of the Republic of Estonia, Valga Museum organized a trip on February 22, 2024, to visit the War of Independence monuments in the county. We invited all interested parties to participate and capture these monuments and the sights seen on this journey in photographs, a selection of which will be displayed on the Valga Museum's website.
We visited monuments in Lüllemäe, Otepää, Tõrva, and Valga. During the bus tour, participants could listen to historical insights about the monuments and the events of the War of Independence, provided by guides Rainer Kuutma and Priit Riemann. The bus departed from the parking lot near Valga Museum on February 22, 2024, at 10:00 AM, and the bus ride was free for participants. The photo tour lasted 5 hours. A total of 39 people participated in the photo tour, including 21 students from Valga Priimetsa School.
The event was supported by the Valgamaa expert group of the Estonian Cultural Endowment.
Students from Valga Priimetsa School also prepared a short presentation about the photo tour:
